Songs of Angels collection - Divine Chorus by An Oleg Vladimirovich

Songs of Angels collection - Divine Chorus by An Oleg Vladimirovich

SKU: p1190

Songs of Angels collection, -Divine Chorus- by artist An Oleg Vladimirovich. Second issue in a numbered series. Bradford exchange, 1995. Plate size approx 8 inches. Suggested Retail $50.00.

An Oleg Vladimirovich's amazingly brilliant work, -Divine Chorus,- required months to complete. The tiny tufts of clouds in the border, the charming expressions on these angels' faces, the precise details in the city behind them, and the -hidden- Star of David each required weeks to paint.

The level of concentration that Palekh Master Viadimirovich must focus is so intense he can only work in short spurts. Often times he uses brushes with no more than a dozen delicate sable hairs to apply the delightful colors to his intricate designs.

Of course, it simply isn't possible to make a mistake. His egg-yolk based paints dry so rapidly that reworking is virtually impossible. A simple slip of the hand can ruin a painting he has been working on for eight months.

Today very few artists outside of Russia are able to work in the incredibly demanding medium of lacquer. And painting on white lacquer is extremely rare indeed. But this unique and valuable art has all been captured here and faithfully re-created in fine porcelain for you to cherish for a lifetime.

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
