Songs of Angels collection - Mystical Chimes by An Oleg Vladimir

Songs of Angels collection - Mystical Chimes by An Oleg Vladimir

SKU: p1189

Songs of Angels collection, -Mystical Chimes- by artist An Oleg Vladimirovich. Fourth issue in a numbered series. Bradford exchange, 1995. Plate size approx 8 inches. Suggested Retail $50.00.

The City of Heaven abides on the pearly slopes of an endless mountain of misty clouds, lapis sky, and golden sunbeams. A mighty fortress of Light, Love and Beauty it is, with shimmering walls of pearl, lapis, sculpted coral and bright adamantine. Elegant spires, simple chapel belfrys, and fantastical minarets point the way to the Throne of God. Within each tower resides the Bells of Heaven—from the silvery ring of tiny chimes, to the resounding toll of great iron bells, to the merry tunes of carillons, all peal the joyous news that God is King. Two musician angels skilled in the art of campanology (the playing of church bells) abide in each tower to ring the canonical hours, care for their bells, and fill the pure, invigorating air of Heaven with divine song.

Russian artist An Oleg Viadimirovich skillfully combines the centuries-old tradition of lacquer art with a singular hallmark of his own—white lacquer. Within the detailed religious imagery and Russian Orthodox icons in this fourth issue, -Mystical Chimes,- the artist has interwoven a sacred chalice of gold amid the splendor and glory of the Holy City.

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
