A Country Wonderland Collection - First Blush of Morning W J Goebel

A Country Wonderland Collection - First Blush of Morning W J Goebel

SKU: p0856

A Country Wonderland Collection, -First Blush of Morning- by Wilhelm J. Goebel. Second issue in this series. Bradford Exchange, 1996. Plate size approx 8.5 by 6.0 inches. Suggested Retail $50.00.

The first shy ribbons of sunlight unfurl over a cobalt blue sky. Its pale glimmer bathes the countryside in a pure, sweet benediction. The drifts of glittering snow lie in perfect, pristine whiteness, their unbroken contours blanketing a smooth expanse of beauty.

The farmer is tending the cows before breakfast. Their welcoming lows echo from the huge barn, its weathered wood beams fragrant with musky warmth, mown hay, and steaming, fresh milk.

Outside a pair of cardinals enjoy a tasty breakfast of seeds and peanut butter suet supplied by the gracious farmer's wife and children. The bold, vivid scarlet of the male's plumage presents a striking contrast against the winter white and rich, dark green of the pine grove. With raucous cries they feast on this generous bounty, grateful for the human kindness that takes the threat of hunger out of winter. Their glorious scarlet colors lend a cheery touch of the holidays to the excited children watching the cardinals from the farmhouse window down the hill.

Here is a serene, joyous vista warmly presented to you by the artistry of Wilhelm Goebel!

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
