Lords of the Forest and Canyon collection, -Golden Monarch- by Greg Beecham.

Lords of the Forest and Canyon collection, -Golden Monarch- by Greg Beecham.

SKU: p1058

Lords of the Forest and Canyon collection, -Golden Monarch- by Greg Beecham. Third issue in this series. Bradford Exchange, 1994. Plate size approx. 8.25 inches. Suggested retail $60.00.

In the secret world of the golden cougar, it is vital to remain alert at all times. Although this giant cat is the undoubted ruler of its mountain domain, the struggle for survival never ends. In this sun-struck portrait, the magnificent lord of the wild stops in the act of drinking from a swiftly rushing mountain stream to quickly look around. Has it caught the sound or scent of prey ?

Although the cougar for all its power and size can move as silently as a ghost and pounce with the speed of a lightning bolt, there arc many days when it must go hungry. So no opportunity for food can ever be. overlooked.

In -Golden Monarch,- third plate in his Lords of the Forest and canyon series, wildlife artist and dedicated conservationist Greg Beecham creates another fascinating montage portrait of this mighty monarch of mountain, desert, and
marshland—revealing both the tense power in its haunches and shoulders and the keen look of awareness in its noble face.

Once more, Mr. Beecham takes you where you could never go in real life. Re-created on fine porce lain, his vision is yours to keep.

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460° Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
