The Five Perceptions of Weo Cho "Smell", by Ling Fu
SKU: L0103
When the soft summer breeze caresses us with the sweet scent of the lotus or the delicate perfume of the waxen lily, let us pause to remember the Universal Spirit of Weo Cho, the being from which all that is pleasant and all that is difficult flows. For from his spirit, which is brighter than sunlight yet bathed in subtle shadows, come the five wise perceptions of life: touch; sight; taste; hearing; and smell.
In ancient words of wisdom which have come to us from generations past are the wise revelations of Weo Cho. One day, as the sun washed down the garden walls, blessing the flowers with the strength to bloom in a hundred colors, Weo Cho strolled slowly, admiring nature’s rainbow.
Alas, the Universal Spirit came upon a blossom with beauty beyond words but filled with sadness. For everyone passed the flower by, its incredible loveliness lost on men and women who would not bend their heads.
So Weo Cho filled the blossom with a perfume so entrancing that the honey bee stopped to sip its nectar, the humming bird hovered around it, and men were drawn from afar to experience its delights. Seeing the flower growing even more exquisite than its bouquet, Weo Cho gave each blossom the earth a different aroma. And all men were forever blessed with the sense of smell.
