SKU: p1065

A World of Wildlife: Celebrating Earth Day's 25th Anniversary collection, Africa: Of Exquisite Tranquility by Todd Clausnitzer. Third issue in the series. The Bradford Exchange, 1994. Plate size approx 8.25 inches. Suggested retail $50.00.

Africa. A continent of contrasts: where sweltering deserts meet snow-capped mountains; where grassy savannahs encircle dense rain forests; where inhabitants find moments of peace and tranquility in the epic struggle to survive.

An African elephant breathes deeply of the heady surroundings. The majestic lion relaxes to survey the land that provides him with his needs. An African fish eagle slices through the crystal air. Two zebras pause to refresh themselves at a placid watering hole. Even the leopard takes time to enjoy a moment of repose with its offspring. Perhaps Man can take a cue from natureƒ??and hold onto its gifts for generations to come.

Earth Day is just that reminder. It was founded 25 years ago to recognize the destruction caused by environmental abuse and to help maintain Earth's fragile balance.

Artist and humanitarian Todd Clausnitzer's brilliant montage of Africa's multitudes adds even more proof that nature holds the key to a better way of life.

The creation of the fine collector's plate you have just acquired and whose authenticity is certified by this document is the result of work by an international cadre of skilled artisans. After the plate art was created in the United States, a fine ceramic transfer, incorporating pigments carefully chosen to faithfully re-create the vibrant beauty of the artist's original, was created in France and Germany and permanently fired into the fine Japanese porcelain plate body at more than 1,460?ø Fahrenheit by talented craftsmen and craftswomen in the United States.
