I've painted Fiona before with her cat and now in "Spring Duet" I show her with a robin on her knee. Spring is in full bloom and Fiona and the robin are celebrating in their own little way. Each seems to be trying to talk with the other. I don't know if it's with words, humming or chirps. Certainly they only have eyes for each other right now. They are in a meadow filled with long grass and sunshine. Cherry trees in full bloom fill the background. There are so many blossoms the fragrant petals fall like pink confetti. The robin really seems to trust Fiona. It can sense her gentle manner and her innocence. Fiona is sitting very still and holding her hands folded in her lap so she doesn't frighten her little friend. She's really curious about the bird and it is just as curious about her. So here they are busy discovering one another, lost in the enchantment of this spring duet. --
