"Forest & Fairytales" By Donald Zolan 1992
SKU: p1344
Zolan's own Story about his miniature lithograph! -- I loved painting "Forests and Fairytales" because I have a son and daughter. I really wanted to show how much the older brother in the picture cares for his little sister. He has his arm all the way around her and he's reading her a story. I tried to give a feeling of how much he wants to be here with her. I gave them about the deepest, darkest forest I've ever painted, to give them a real fairytale setting. So here they are. They're surrounded by big trees, they have warm sweaters, soft dappled light is drifting down through the trees, and a big quiet lake adds to the serene feeling. I love to imagine the chatter from a squirrel and laughter from the little girl as her brother reads to her. I put them very close together to show the closeness they feel for each other all the time. They'll probably walk home holding hands and probably will always share their lives with one another as years go by. That's what I hope for my own children, Erik and Sabina, and that's what I see for these children too. Colector price $49.95. Size 8.5 by 6.5 inches. Lithograph -- Pemberton & Oakes.
